There are a number of regulators that regulate charities in Australia, including the Australian Charities Not-for Profit Commission, ASIC, ATO and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

In addition, there are various state regulators. For example, in Queensland, an organisation may need to be registered with the Office of Fair Trading for public fundraising approval, and an organisation might qualify to be an exempt institution for transfer duty or land tax duty.
