I am very excited to announce that Heather Watson will provide legal services as a consultant under contract to Mayes Law from 1st July 2021. Heather’s warmth, breadth of experience, knowledge and talent is well known in the not-for-profit and charity sector. Heather and I have both worked very hard to ensure we are up to date about issues impacting on the not-for-profit and charity sector, which has been very valuable for our clients. Heather has numerous board roles in the charity sector. She is a member of the ACNC Advisory Board. I am a member of the ACNC Professional User Forum. We are both members of the Queensland Law Society Policy Advisory Committee for not-for-profits and charities. Heather and I have worked together for over 10 years and together we are a great team.  What a fantastic opportunity for Heather and I and the clients of Mayes Law.

Mayes Law has a new website: I have gone through a rebranding exercise with the wonderful Glenn Rieger of Kirbi Solutions. I have worked with Glenn to create a new logo and look – goodbye little seahorse and ocean and fish photos, and hello much more sophisticated serious look. The exercise has been uplifting and challenging. Thank you to those who have provided a testimonial for me to publish on the site. I am very grateful.  For those who know my love of swimming, be reassured that my reimagining of my brand has not changed that.

Finally, with much encouragement from Glenn from Kirbi - I have allowed him to create a blog on my new website and I will be posting to that blog much more than I have in the past – which has been NIL, so hopefully that won’t be too hard.

I look forward to Mayes Law being of continuing assistance to those in the not-for-profit and charity sector for many years to come.
